Help Our Preservation Effort (H.O.P.E.) is in the process of restoring two historic homes in the center of the Moravian Historic District of Hope, NJ. The first fundraiser to support this effort is a pasta dinner at the Hope Community Center, 5 Walnut St., on Saturday, Oct. 11, from 5 to 7 p.m.

The Crusen and Cooper Houses are adjacent to the First Hope Bank headquarters on Bridgeville Road (Route 519). Once restored, they will join other Moravian buildings, including the bank itself, the Long House, the Inn at Millrace Pond, the Distillery, and the American House, as well as several single-family homes as evidence of the heritage that dates back to the 18th Century.

The theme of the dinner is “Pasta, Sinatra and Hope, Now that’s Italian.” The evening will include a 50/50 and tricky-tray type prizes. Prizes received at press time are milk products from the Bohemian Farmstead, Cuisinart Ceramic Knifeset, Keurig Barista Bar, Collapsible folding wagon with brakes, Moravian Star, Sheepskin, Original painting by Ellie Zukoski, and gift certificates.

Tickets are $30, and reservations for a table for 10 are $250. Pre-sales are encouraged as only 50 tickets will be available at the door. Tickets are available at Hope Junction Antiques. For more information, contact H.O.P.E. via info@hopepreservation.org or call 908-798-7164. Please make checks payable to H.O.P.E.
