The Lake Hopatcong Block Party celebrates all facets of Lake Hopatcong life by bringing visitors together with businesses, non-profit organizations, community groups, crafters, and food vendors for a community day like no other featuring activities, raffles, giveaways, a children’s scavenger hunt, and more.
Every year our volunteers rave about the camaraderie, fun, and fulfillment that comes from spending a few hours helping the Lake Hopatcong Foundation organize the lake’s largest gathering of neighbors, friends, crafters, organizations, and businesses.
Hundreds of folks join us each year to volunteer, and as the Block Party grows, so does our need for help! Whether you enjoy giving back, meeting new people, or have community service hours to fulfill for school or work, the Block Party is an excellent volunteer opportunity. Find out more and register for one, or multiple shifts below.

For kids 12 years and younger, a Children's Scavenger Hunt provides hands-on activities, fun giveaways, and lots of learning opportunities from the Lake Hopatcong community. Return completed scavenger hunt cards for a special reward! (while supplies last)
Other kid-friendly activities include exotic animal programs with Eyes of the Wild, a special Touch-A-Truck area, a fishing demonstration with the Knee Deep Club, retrieval demo from Hudson Farms Gun Dogs, Robotix demonstration with Roxbury High School, Puppy-Wuppy Drill Team, Smokey Bear, Herbie the Miner, and more!
In addition, games will be scattered throughout the Block Party including the Froggy Fly Fling, oversized Operation (don’t touch the sides!), Tic Tac Toss, a Mini Train Striker, and Cornhole. Get your game on!
There are two ways to enjoy a free boat ride on the lake during the Block Party!
Set sail on Lake Hopatcong’s very own Miss Lotta! Thanks to Lake Hopatcong Cruises, enjoy one of seven FREE cruises offered throughout the day. Departures are scheduled for 10:55 am, 11:25 am, 11:55 am, 12:25 pm, 12:55 pm, 1:25 pm, and 1:55 pm.
To hop aboard, head to Zone A, Booth 65 (look for the BOAT RIDE FLAG at the booth closest to the boat ramp). Tickets are released 15 minutes before each cruise on a first come, first served basis, with a limit of four tickets per group. All passengers must be present in line to receive a ticket.
Once on board, sit back and enjoy the ride! Beverages are available for purchase at the full-service bar, and you’re welcome to bring along food from the event’s food court.
Looking for a quick cruise on the water? Bridge Marina has you covered! Hop on a pontoon ride that cruises past the State Park Beach, down toward Landing, and back, giving you a fun and relaxing glimpse of the lake.
To ride, visit the Bridge Marina booth in Zone A, Booths 68-75, to receive your bracelet, then make your way down the ramp to board. It’s an easy, breezy way to get out on the water during Block Party Day!
You’ve got to be in it to win it - but you don’t have to be present to take home the prize!
Raffle tickets will be available at the 50/50 booth in the pavilion area and from roaming ticket sellers throughout the event.
The drawing will take place at 3:30 pm. Winners do not need to be present, but contact information must be provided on all entries.
Proceeds benefit the Lake Hopatcong Foundation’s efforts to foster a vibrant and healthy Lake Hopatcong.
Parking at Hopatcong State Park will be offered on a space-available basis for a $10 cash donation (public parking gates open at 9:45 am).
