We’re excited to offer two great options for free boat rides at this year’s Lake Hopatcong Block Party—whether you’re in the mood for a relaxing cruise or a quick spin on the water, we’ve got you covered!
Lake Hopatcong's own Miss Lotta will embark on seven FREE cruises throughout the day, courtesy of Lake Hopatcong Cruises! Departure times are: 10:55 am, 11:25 am, 11:55 am, 12:25 pm, 12:55 pm, 1:25 pm, and 1:55 pm.
Tickets will be available in Zone A—look for the BOAT RIDE FLAG near the boat ramp. Tickets are released 15 minutes before each cruise on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limit of four tickets per group. All passengers must be present in line to receive a ticket. Beverages are available from the onboard full-service bar, and you’re welcome to bring food from the food court.
Prefer something shorter? The amazing team from Bridge Marina will be offering FREE quick pontoon cruises throughout the day! Visit them in Zone A to get outfitted with a bracelet, which serves as your “ticket to ride.”
All boat rides will depart from the State Park dock, and opportunities will be announced over the PA system—so listen closely and get ready to grab your tickets or line up when your ride is called!
Visit participating sponsors while exploring the Block Party, get the required stamps, and submit your passport to be entered in a drawing for a prize of your choosing! One passport per household - limited to 300 households. Passport Adventure Passports are available at the Passport Adventure Booth in the pavilion area and must be returned by 3:15 pm. Winners will be announced at 3:30 pm. Winners need not be present.
Merry Musicians will be at the Children’s Activities Booth making crafts and more!
Kids 12 and under can join the fun with our Children’s Scavenger Hunt, featuring hands-on activities, fun giveaways, and learning opportunities from the Lake Hopatcong community. To participate, simply stop by the children’s activity booth (zone B) to pick up a scavenger hunt card—then return the completed card to receive a free kiddie cone coupon for Jefferson Dairy (while supplies last)!
Other kid-friendly activities include exotic animal programs with Eyes of the Wild, a fishing demonstration with the Knee Deep Club, a take-home craft from the Home Dept, visiting with an alpaca from Hidden Brook Ranch, and walkabout characters like the Puppy-Wuppy Drill Team, Herbie the Miner, the Centenary Cyclone, and more!
In addition, games will be scattered throughout the Block Party, including the Froggy Fly Fling, oversized Operation (don’t touch the sides!), Tic Tac Toss, a Mini Train Striker, and Cornhole. Get your game on!
Raffle tickets will be available at the 50/50 booth in the Pavillion area and from walking ticket sellers. Tickets are $5.00 for 1 ticket, $10.00 for 5 tickets, and $20.00 for 15 tickets.
The drawing will take place at 3 pm. Winners need not be present, contact information must be provided. Proceeds will benefit the Lake Hopatcong Foundation's efforts to foster a vibrant and healthy Lake Hopatcong!
Every year our volunteers rave about the camaraderie, fun, and fulfillment that comes from spending a few hours helping the Lake Hopatcong Foundation organize the lake’s largest gathering of neighbors, friends, crafters, organizations, and businesses.
Hundreds of folks join us each year to volunteer, and as the Block Party grows, so does our need for help! Whether you enjoy giving back, meeting new people, or have community service hours to fulfill for school or work, the Block Party is an excellent volunteer opportunity. Find out more and register for one, or multiple shifts below.
