Japonaise Jewelry History Lecture on Sunday May 25, 2025 at 2pm, at the Van Kirk Museum. Free and open to the public. On display will be vintage collectibles as a part of the museum's current exhibit on "QUILTS: More Than Meets The Eye". On exhibit, you will see Japonaise jewelry pieces from 1880-1930. Showing ornamental hair combs with Mother of Pearl in Tortoise and Horn, 1920 sash buckles, early Shakudo Japan items along with later Damascene tourist jewelry. Also, an enamel sterling link bracelet, Victorian pearl jewelry influencing jewels into the 20th century, and so much more to visually enjoy.
