On Thursday, March 19, 2026, the Sparta Historical Society is celebrating Women's History Motn by hosting a special historical presentation on Martha Washington, wife of George Washington and the nation’s first First Lady.
Carol Spacht of the American Historical Theatre in Philadelphia will portray Martha Washington, sharing stories from the early days of America’s founding and reflecting on her experiences and contributions during her time alongside George Washington.
The program will take place at 1:00 PM at Sparta Presbyterian Church Hall, 32 Main Street, Sparta. Guests are encouraged to arrive by 12:40 PM.
Attendees are invited to wear a cap and shawl and bring a teacup to enjoy light refreshments following the presentation.
