The Devil and Daisy Dirt: A Garden State Gothic Alt-Folk Tale
Step into the Pine Barrens for a uniquely Jersey theatrical experience that blends folklore, live music, and a touch of the supernatural. Dubbed “the most original, Jersey-centric, and downright weird presentation in our state's theatrical history” by Weird NJ, this unforgettable alt-folk performance reimagines the legend of the Jersey Devil in a haunting, humorous, and deeply local tall tale.
When Daisy Dirt stumbles upon something strange, winged, and wounded behind Lucille’s Luncheonette during the town's annual “I 8 the Devil” contest, her world turns upside down. With help from a Piney palm reader, a piece of enchanted muscle meat, and her own fierce determination, Daisy risks everything to protect the creature from a poacher named Tasty (Murder). Think Pine Barrens "Our Town" meets cryptid E.T., but with deer hunters, a portal over Apple Pie Hill, and a devil puppet standing 8 feet tall. All set to a high lonesome bluegrass soundtrack performed live on stage!
