Get ready to have fun, raise funds, and party at this year’s Lake Loop, happening Sunday, October 5, at Hopatcong State Park! This high-energy, feel-good event brings together outdoor lovers of all levels for a day of activity and community, all in support of a healthy, thriving Lake Hopatcong.
Whether you're in it for the challenge or just here for the fun, there’s something for everyone:
• 62-mile ride for serious cyclists
• 40-mile ride for weekend warriors
• 20-mile ride for a scenic spin
• 2-mile nature hike guided by our education & outreach director, perfect for all ages
• 4-mile route (new this year!) exploring Landing Channel before returning to Hopatcong State Park
• 2.5-mile route for a relaxing loop to Bertrand Island and back
When you cross the finish line, the real fun begins! Free for participants, stick around for our finish line celebration, which includes a sandwich lunch paired with The Roxbury Diner’s famous pumpkin soup. Cool down with a cold one in the beer garden (Sam Adams Oktoberfest to keep the autumn vibes going or Michelob Ultra for a low-calorie option), courtesy of Liquor Factory. Or you can rehydrate with coffee and iced tea from Dunkin’ and water from Culligan Water.
You’ll also enjoy live music by Joe Biglin and Friends and learn about efforts to make our roads safer and more sustainable from local bike/walk advocacy groups Avenues in Motion and the New Jersey Bike & Walk Coalition.
You’ve earned it all after completing your challenge! Speaking of challenges, a friendly game of cornhole or giant connect four awaits you while enjoying the lake views and a community that knows how to have fun and make a difference.
Whether you bike, hike, or paddle, the Lake Loop is the can't-miss event of the fall season. Don’t wait, register now and be part of something amazing!
