Once-a-Year Opportunity: Order Your B-SAFE Dock Number

April 18, 2025| Community, Safety

By: Holly Odgers

This is it... Your only chance to get a B-SAFE dock number in 2025!

B-SAFE (Blue Signs Are For Emergencies) dock numbers are small yet impactful blue signs adorned with white reflective numbers that connect a "lake address" to each lakefront property's 9-1-1 street address. If an emergency occurs on or near the water, an accurate location can be reported to emergency responders using the nearest dock number as a reference point.

B-SAFE dock numbers do not contain any personal information and can be mounted on your dock, boathouse, post, or tree—anywhere they can be easily seen from the water!

Dock numbers also make great holiday, housewarming, and host gifts. All you need is the street address for the property’s sign you want to purchase.

To keep the cost of these signs as low as possible, orders are sent to our signmaker in batches, and there will only be one batch printed in 2025. Don't miss it! Order by July 9 for August delivery (shipping is included in the price).

Thank you for making our lake safer, one sign at a time.

Order today!

How the program works
  • If an emergency occurs on the water, ice, or land CALL 9-1-1.
  • Locate the nearest dock sign and provide the number to the 9-1-1 operator.
  • Emergency resources will be sent to your location.
  • Landowners can report a water emergency and the 9-1-1 operator will be able to translate the street address to a water location.
  • Your posted number will provide an easy way for friends to locate your dock
