Bergamot (Monarda fistulosa)

Wild bergamot, also known as bee balm, is a popular and showy perennial. Clusters of lavender, pink or white flowers, resembling ragged pompoms, bloom atop 2-5-foot-tall, open-branched stems. Its aromatic leaves are used to make herbal tea.

Oil from the leaves was historically used to treat respiratory ailments.
