Culver's Root (Veronicastrum virginicum)

This elegant plant reaches heights of 5' and has candelabra-like spikes of white flowers that open from the top to the bottom in mid-summer. Culver's root has long been used medicinally for liver disorders and constipation. Native Americans also used it for spiritual purposes. The flowers attract butterflies and bees.
