Cutleaf Coneflower is a tall, hardy perennial with deeply lobed leaves and showy yellow flowers that bloom from midsummer into fall. Resembling a wild sunflower with drooping yellow petals and a prominent green central cone, it brings height and movement to native plantings and rain gardens. The blooms attract butterflies, bees, and other pollinators, while the seeds provide food for birds later in the season. Thriving in moist soils and partial shade, it’s a favorite for naturalized landscapes and pollinator habitats.
Historically, various Native American groups used the plant to treat burns and aid help with indigestion.
