Wild Petunia (Ruellia humilis)

Standing about 1' tall, wild petunia, known for its attractive purple flowers and drought resistance, will bloom throughout the hottest and driest summer weather. It is a hardy plant which attracts a wide variety of insect pollinators, as well as butterflies and hummingbirds.

Its historical use by Native American groups is not clearly recorded, but is believed to have been used to treat ailments such as respiratory issues, gastrointestinal problems, or inflammation, and might have also had ornamental use.
