We’re so excited to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our native plant sale! For a decade, this program has helped bring more native plants into our community, creating a more resilient and vibrant local ecosystem. Thank you to everyone who has purchased and planted natives in your yard or garden. Your efforts are making a real difference!
This year’s sale opens at noon on Friday, April 24, but you can get a sneak peek of the more than 45 varieties offered this year right now at lhfplantsale.givesmart.com.
Click the link below to visit our sale site, where you can easily browse plants and learn about each variety, including bloom time and growing conditions. You can also use the “categories” feature to sort plants by helpful traits like "deer resistant," "pollinator," "likes shade," or even by color—making it easy to find the perfect fit for your space.
Native plants naturally occur in the region where they evolved, making them well-suited to local conditions. Once established, they typically require less water, fertilizer, and maintenance than non-native species.
They also play a vital role in supporting local ecosystems by providing food and habitat for birds, native bees, butterflies, bats, and other wildlife.
By planting native species, you’re not only enhancing your own landscape—you’re helping protect wildlife, strengthening your local environment, and supporting the health of Lake Hopatcong and its watershed.
