Before tossing out that broken lamp, dull kitchen knife, or wobbly chair, there’s another option—fix it!
We’d love for you to join us on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at Roxbury Fire Co. #2 in Landing for the return of the Roxbury Repair Café. Built on a simple but powerful idea - bring your items, meet your neighbors, and see what we can fix together - this free community event is hosted in partnership with the Roxbury Public Library and Roxbury Township Recycling. It’s one of our favorite ways to bring people together around sustainability in a hands-on, meaningful way.
As part of a global movement, Repair Cafés are all about neighbors helping neighbors, sharing knowledge, and making small choices that add up to a big impact.
Now in its second year, the Roxbury Repair Café provides an opportunity to sit down with volunteer “fixers,” skilled, generous community members who enjoy helping others repair and restore everyday items. Whether it’s a small electronic device, a lamp, a bike, a piece of jewelry, or a beloved household item, there’s a good chance someone can help bring it back to life. We’ll also have knife sharpening and sewing machine repair available.
To keep things running smoothly, we ask that you bring only items you can carry on your own. Each household may bring up to two items, and knife sharpening is limited to three knives per person.
Appointments are strongly encouraged and will be given priority, though walk-ins are welcome as space allows. Appointments can be scheduled online at roxburylibrary.org/repair-cafe-16255.
If you enjoy fixing things, we’d love to have you involved as a volunteer fixer. It’s a great way to share your skills, meet others, and be part of something positive in the community.
For questions about the event or to volunteer, contact Sam Fellman at sam.fellman@roxburylibrary.org or call (973) 584-2400.
We hope to see you there!
