Do you love to tinker, troubleshoot, or bring broken things back to life? We are looking for skilled volunteers to help at the next Roxbury Repair Café on Saturday, October 18, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at Roxbury Fire Co. #2.
The Roxbury Repair Café is a collaborative effort of the Roxbury Public Library, the Lake Hopatcong Foundation, and Roxbury Township Recycling, focused on repairing instead of replacing. Rather than tossing broken items in the trash, neighbors come together to fix them, reducing waste, preserving valuable skills, encouraging learning, and building connections in the community.
Volunteer “fixers” are the heart of the program, and more hands are needed. We’re especially looking for help with jewelry, electronics, computer, and bicycle repairs, but all kinds of repair expertise are welcome. Bringing the tools you need is helpful, but basic tools will also be provided. Whether you’re a professional or just handy with tools, your skills can make a meaningful difference for your neighbors and the environment.
To sign up or learn more, contact Sam Fellman at sam.fellman@roxburylibrary.org.
Join us in making Roxbury more sustainable, one repair at a time.
