Bet You Didn’t Know (About These Block Party Helpers)

May 07, 2025| Community, Events

By: Caitlin Doran

Those who have been reading along when it comes to the 2025 Block Party already know that it takes a village of more than 100 volunteers to make the day run smoothly: think setup, parking, traffic control, welcome booth, vendor load-in, information booth, Passport Adventure and Children’s Activities…the list goes on!

But we bet you didn’t know there’s a whole team of people and partners that make up a base of support, without which we couldn’t hold the event. We’d like to take this time to tip our caps to the following people and partners.

Shuttle Bus Coordinators

Complimentary shuttle bus service to-and-from five off-site parking areas will be provided by the Sussex County Regional Cooperative, Hopatcong Borough, Hopatcong Schools, Mount Arlington Borough, Roxbury Township, Roxbury Schools, Jefferson Township, and Jefferson Schools. Thank you to the municipalities, school leadership, and each bus driver for helping us bring the Block Party to so many people!

Off-site Parking Partners

Free parking areas are located at Roxbury’s Landing Park Recreation Complex, Landing shopping center (courtesy of FORSONS Partners), Full Life Christian Fellowship Church lot (a.k.a. the Barking Lot, which is reserved for guests with dogs), Hopatcong Senior Center, the Wayne L. Threlkeld Hilltop Sports Complex, and 12 Orben Way, Landing (compliments of Tri-State Industrial). These parking lots help accommodate the influx of Block Party attendees, and make the event accessible to as many people as possible!

Traffic Management and Safety Coordinators

We would like to thank the Roxbury Police Department, New Jersey State Police Marine Services Bureau, New Jersey State Park Police, Mount Arlington C.E.R.T., our local fire departments, and Roxbury Interact Club, all of whom help keep us safe and organized at the Block Party.

Camp Six Property Management

Camp Six Property Management is the hard-working team helping us on behalf of the Live the Lake NJ family of businesses, our longtime 5-Star Sponsor.  Going above and beyond their financial sponsorship, the Camp Six team has been hands-on in planning and executing the event, helping with everything from set-up to trash removal. We can’t thank them enough for another year of Block Party help!

And there are others who quietly go above and beyond to lend a hand with the Block Party, like Blue Diamond Disposal, who provides trash carting services; Missile Silos Studios, who pre-records many of our announcements; Avenues In Motion, who manage the Miss Lotta tickets; Knights of Columbus Council #5114, who help out with the Children’s Scavenger Hunt cards; and the sound mixing magic of Sergio and Leon Moreau, who staff the public service announcement system.

Hopatcong State Park gets a standing ovation, too, for accommodating our many big ideas and special requests to help make the Block Party better and better every year!

We are truly grateful for all the behind-the-scenes helpers and more than 100 volunteers helping us before, during, and after our 2025 Lake Hopatcong Block Party. We could not do this without you!

Are you looking to join the team bringing together Lake Hopatcong’s biggest party? There’s still time to register as a volunteer here!
