New Jersey is part of one of the most biodiverse temperate ecosystems on the planet, yet much of our native wildlife often goes unnoticed. In this talk, we’ll highlight some of these species and explore how you can discover them right in your own backyard.
Jacky Chitty is a recent graduate serving with the New Jersey Watershed Ambassadors Program (NJWAP) for the 2025-2026 term; who discovered two new species of wasp while attending Rowan University as an undergraduate. NJWAP's mission is to promote watershed conservation through activities such as educational presentations, assessments of stream invertebrate biodiversity, and invasive species removals.
