Be Part of a Community That Cares

May 05, 2025| Community, Fundraising

By: Kyle Richter

My Friends,

At the heart of our community is a shared commitment to something greater than ourselves. Lake Hopatcong is more than just a beautiful place — it’s a critically important natural, recreational, and economic resource; it’s a source of pride; it’s a place where generational memories are made; it’s New Jersey’s largest lake; and it’s right in our backyard.

Keeping this special place healthy and vibrant takes a community of people who care. Today, we’re asking you to be part of that community.

The Lake Hopatcong Foundation is dedicated to safeguarding our lake through environmental initiatives, educational programs, community-building events, and advocacy at every level of government. Whether it’s working with scientists on the latest advances in water quality improvement, educating thousands of students across our elementary and high school education programs, or building a constituency of representatives and neighbors who care, our efforts rely on the support of people like you.

This spring, we’re asking you to take Lake Hopatcong Foundation membership one step further —we’re asking you to help us inspire others.

Imagine what we could accomplish if everyone who loves Lake Hopatcong brought just one more person into our mission of protecting it. Your membership plays a vital role— getting one more person involved doubles that impact.

Here are two ways you can support efforts to protect and improve Lake Hopatcong today:

Give a gift: Your donation powers our programs and ensures we can continue protecting our lake.

Spread the word: Tell one friend, one neighbor, why Lake Hopatcong matters to you and encourage them to join our efforts. A donation in any amount makes them a member and multiplies your impact. Share this blog with someone you think should be an LHF member!

A Lake Hopatcong Foundation volunteer once compared protecting our lake to rowing a boat. You’ll make some progress with one person and one oar, but you’ll get farther and go faster with two! Every new supporter we welcome, every dollar we raise, every conversation sparked, strengthens our ability to protect Lake Hopatcong for generations to come.

DONATE TODAY

Thank you for being part of our community of people who care.

With deep gratitude,

Kyle Richter
Executive Director

P.S. I invite you to give me a call at 973-663-2500 at any time to learn more about how your gift is making a difference!
