Conscientious cleanup crew

April 26, 2021| Community, Environment, Events

By: Donna Macalle-Holly

A fabulous crew of eleven arose early on Saturday, April 24, to pick up roadside debris along Mt. Arlington Boulevard in support of Roxbury’s Adopt-A-Spot Program and in celebration of Earth Week!

The Foundation began participating in Roxbury Township’s Adopt-A-Spot program in 2016, adopting the section of Mount Arlington Boulevard and scheduling roadside cleanup days at least once a year to maintain this stretch of road.

This year, approximately 10 full bags of trash were removed along with some larger items. Our strangest find from the day was a half of a head of cabbage! Our sincere appreciation to all who joined us and helped prevent all of that litter from entering our waterways.
