Science Meets Scenery on Our 2025 Summer Eco-Cruises

May 27, 2025| Education, Environment

By: Holly Odgers

Looking for a fun and educational way to get out on the water this summer?

We’re excited to announce that tickets are now available for our 2025 summer eco-cruises aboard the Lake Hopatcong Foundation Floating Classroom!

These popular cruises offer a memorable way to explore New Jersey’s largest lake. Set out for an interactive, hands-on experience where science comes alive—dip Secchi disks to test water clarity, peer at plankton through a microscope, and uncover the hidden world beneath the surface. Along the way, you’ll learn about the lake’s ecology, natural history, and more—all while taking in the sights and sounds of Lake Hopatcong.

Eco cruises run every Monday in July and August, departing from Hopatcong State Park in Landing at 11:00 am and returning by 12:30 pm.

Ready to come aboard?

Whether you're a curious kid, a lifelong learner, or just looking for a memorable way to spend a summer morning, our eco-cruises offer a unique way to experience Lake Hopatcong from a whole new perspective.
