Giving Tuesday goal smashed!

December 04, 2020| Community, Fundraising, LHF Environmental & Cultural Center

By: Caitlin Doran

This past Giving Tuesday, the global day of giving, we asked our community to support a local project: the continued restoration of the Lake Hopatcong Station. We set a goal of $5,000 to help cover the final phase of the restoration, details like interior work and permanent signage on Landing Road.

We’ve always known this community to be generous with its time and resources, but nothing could have prepared us for the result: more than double our goal, raised in just a few short days!

As a special thank you, all who donated $250 or more will receive a miniature model of the Lake Hopatcong Station, hand-crafted by the artists of Lilliput Lane. We hope all who receive one enjoy it and think of the station often, as we wait until such a time as we can all safely meet within its walls again.

We are so grateful to all of our Giving Tuesday donors. This train station - from its acquisition, to its restoration, its rebirth as the LHF Environmental and Cultural Center, to these final details - is your legacy as much as it is ours.

If anyone would still like to make a contribution to this campaign, we will be keeping the donation page up through the weekend.

Thank you, from all of us at the LHF!
