Scenic Overlooks and Panoramic Views: Join Us for a Guided Hike

Join us for a guided hike on the Compton-Goble Trail in Jefferson in celebration of National Trails Day. The hike will be led by Russ Felter, Chair of the Jefferson Township Trails Committee and former Mayor of Jefferson Township. Held annually, National Trails Day is a nationwide call to get outside, enjoy nature, and appreciate the value of trails.

This year’s hike will cover approximately 3 miles, including a scenic overlook just off the main trail. On the return trip, we’ll follow a different route that climbs to the top of Mitchko Mountain, where you’ll be treated to panoramic views.

Russ is a longtime champion of open space and trail development in Jefferson Township. Under his leadership, the township’s trail system has expanded and improved greatly. He looks forward to introducing this beautifully restored trail to the community.


Hike Details

Date & Time: Sunday, June 8 at 12:00 PM
Trailhead Location: Entrance is next to Dunkin on Route 15 North (778 NJ-15 North, Lake Hopatcong)
Difficulty: Moderate
Suitable for: All ages
Limited to: 30 hikers

Registration is required to join the hike.
