Why You Should Register for Lake Loop Right Now!

July 22, 2025| Events, Recreation

By: Caitlin Doran

We are thrilled to announce that registration is now open for our annual Lake Loop Challenge, set to take place on Sunday, October 5 at Hopatcong State Park and presented in partnership with Live the Lake, Cycle Craft, and Ramsey Outdoor. Participants can once again choose their challenge from a menu of options that include multiple cycling, hiking, and paddling routes.

Here’s why you want to avoid delay and register today:

  1. Early bird pricing is in effect, but it’ll be gone before you know it! Right now, the registration fees for cyclists and paddlers are only $35, and for hikers, only $20. We have discounts for kids, too! Included in your registration is a T-shirt (kids get swag instead of a shirt) and a finish line party of refreshments, music, and prizes. Prices jump by $15 come Labor Day!
  2. Register now and secure your coveted Lake Loop T-shirt! Post Labor Day, your shirt/size are not guaranteed. Strike while the weather is hot!
Choose Your Challenge

Participants can select from three awesome activities:

Bike: Ride through picturesque landscapes on your choice of a 62-, 40-, or 20-mile route, designed to showcase the beauty of Lake Hopatcong and surrounding towns.

Hike: Explore the scenic trails of Hopatcong State Park on an educational, interactive 2-mile hike, complete with informational FAQ sheet. Perfect for families!

Paddle: Embark on a 2.5-mile paddle to “Bertrand Island and back” or “go the extra miles” and head down to Landing Channel for an expanded 4-mile paddle.

All activities start and end at Hopatcong State Park, where participants will be treated to a festive finish line party. Enjoy complimentary food, refreshments, live music, and a chance to win registration raffles, fundraising prizes, and more!

Make an Impact

Participating in the Lake Loop isn't just about completing the course—it's about making a meaningful impact for a healthy Lake Hopatcong. Although additional fundraising isn't required, it does come with rewards! Prizes await those who make an additional donation, as well as the top fundraising individual and team, so we invite you to personalize your fundraising page, which is automatically created for you during registration. Share your story of why you're cycling, hiking, or paddling, and let's work together to support a vibrant and healthy Lake Hopatcong!
