Native Plant Sale Now Open: Celebrating 10 Years

April 24, 2026| Environment, Events

By: Holly Odgers

10 years. Thousands of native plants. One healthier Lake Hopatcong.

Our annual Native Plant Sale is back, celebrating a milestone year and the impact our community has made by planting native, supporting pollinators, improving water quality, and creating healthier habitat throughout the watershed.

Ordering is open now at lhfplantsale.givesmart.com through 6 pm on Thursday, April 30. Pick-up will take place on Saturday, May 2, from 9 am to noon at our headquarters at 125 Landing Road, Landing.

With more than 45 species of New Jersey native plants available, it’s a simple way to add lasting beauty to your yard while making a real environmental impact. Native plants naturally occur in the region where they evolved and are well adapted to local conditions, meaning they typically require less water, fertilizer, and maintenance once established. They also play a vital role in supporting ecosystems by providing food and habitat for birds, native bees, butterflies, bats, and other wildlife.

By planting native species in your yard, you’re helping protect wildlife, creating a healthier environment, and supporting the health of Lake Hopatcong and its watershed.

This year’s selection includes favorites like purple coneflower, common milkweed, and blue baptisia, along with some exciting additions such as sweetbay magnolia and eastern ninebark. Plants are provided as well-rooted seedlings in quart containers (unless otherwise noted) and are sourced from trusted nurseries, including Well-Sweep Herb Farm and Catskill Native Nursery.

Whether you’re building a pollinator garden or just getting started with native plants, every planting makes a difference.
