Shaping the future: Flow Together workshop series

February 01, 2024| Community, Environment

By: Holly Odgers

We're excited to invite you to participate in a community initiative aimed at shaping the future of the Musconetcong Watershed – the Flow Together Workshop Series. Organized by the Musconetcong Watershed Association (MWA), this workshop series is a unique opportunity for you to actively contribute to the development of a comprehensive watershed management plan.

Developing a Comprehensive Plan

With support from Clean Water Act funds, MWA is developing a comprehensive watershed management plan for the Musconetcong Watershed. This plan will integrate technical data from water quality studies, expert advice, and input from the local community.

Community Input Workshops

Community input will be conducted in two phases. In Phase 1, MWA engaged residents in feedback sessions, addressing critical aspects such as resource management, ordinances, planning/zoning, open space, and best management practices. Building on this success, Phase 2 launches with a focus on brainstorming next steps, implementing strategies, and alleviating nonpoint source pollution. Five workshops will be offered for phase 2, including one at our headquarters at the historic Lake Hopatcong Station on February 21. You can register to participate HERE.

Your Participation Matters

The Flow Together Workshop Series is not just a meeting; it's a chance for you to actively contribute to the future of our watershed. Your participation will directly impact the management plan that will shape our community's future. Together, let's flow towards a cleaner, healthier Musconetcong Watershed!
