Lake Hopatcong Cruises will honor local veterans during its annual Veterans Cruise on June 27. Veterans from the four towns surrounding Lake Hopatcong will board Miss Lotta and receive a heartfelt tribute from the lake community. The first cruise, featuring veterans from Jefferson and Hopatcong, will set sail from 9:00 to 11:00 am. The second cruise, featuring veterans from Mt. Arlington and Roxbury, will set sail from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.
In years past, the community has created a memorable display of appreciation with musical tributes, special presentations, and hundreds of residents and supporters lining the shoreline to wave flags and cheer as the veterans passed by. Lakefront residents are encouraged to decorate their docks, wave flags, and join in the shoreline celebration as Miss Lotta makes her way around the lake. Community members can also gather at one of four suggested viewing locations to take part in the event and show their support.
The public gathering locations are as follows:
9:05 am at Brady Bridge in Jefferson
10:20 am at River Styx Bridge in Hopatcong
11:55 am at Mt. Arlington Municipal Beach in Mt. Arlington
12:40 pm at Shore Hills Country Club in Roxbury
This event offers a meaningful opportunity for the community to gather and honor our veterans! The full map and itinerary can be seen below.
