On Sunday, October 5 – and in the days and weeks leading up to the Lake Loop – over 50 volunteers prepped 4 miles of paddling, 2 miles of hiking, and yes – over 60 miles of cycling. Their hard work paid off! With the help of a truly stunning, summer-like Sunday, 180 participants - from as far as Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania - joined us to bike, hike, and paddle in celebration and support of New Jersey’s largest lake!
Thanks to Lake Loopers’ generosity, and the generosity of our many sponsors and donors, we are thrilled to announce that we surpassed our goal of raising $55K! Proceeds from the Lake Loop will help power our environmental, educational, community, and advocacy programs and continue our mission to protect and improve our lake and community.
New features for 2025 proved popular, like our extended paddle course into Landing Channel, our guided and narrated hike, and our upgrades to the 20-mile cycling route. Our friends at Avenues in Motion went above and beyond by joining us on our ride with a portable air quality sensor, which showed low particulate matter, meaning our air quality was good!
Many Lake Loopers went “the extra mile” this year, fundraising for our cause by asking friends, family, coworkers, and classmates to support their ride, hike, or paddle with a donation. Our top fundraisers took home some truly awesome prizes, like a half-day boat rental from Bridge Marina and gift cards from Ramsey Outdoor and Cycle Craft. We say thank you and congratulations to:
The top fundraising team: Malpica Oasis
The top fundraising individuals: Gianni and Dominic Malpica
The winners of our fundraising raffles (participants who raised any dollar amount):
Donations made directly to the event and in support of participants like those above, combined with generous sponsorships, made this another successful Lake Loop. Take a victory lap, 2025 Lake Loop sponsors!
We’ll close by thanking the many volunteers who made the Lake Loop magic happen - from painting the roads to placing the buoys to setting up the cones to packing the sandwiches and distributing the water (the list goes on and on), we couldn’t do this without you! And to the many organizations who showed up to keep us safe, and to promote safety, we extend our gratitude, including the New Jersey State Police Marine Division, Roxbury Township PD, Roxbury Township Fire and EMS Company 1 and Company 2, Roxbury Township OEM, Hopatcong Police Department, and the New Jersey Bike & Walk Coalition.
Whether you missed the fun or want to relive it, we think you’ll enjoy these Lake Loop photos, compliments of Ulla Vinkman, Foundation staff, and volunteers. Enjoy, and we’ll see you at next year’s Lake Loop!
