Block Party parking? We’ve got you covered!

May 08, 2024| Community, Events

By: Caitlin Doran

The Lake Hopatcong Block Party has grown in its ten years to become one of the biggest, most anticipated lakeside events of the year, drawing thousands of visitors to Hopatcong State Park to connect with local businesses and organizations and to enjoy food, entertainment, and free, family-friendly fun!

Where do I park and what’s the best way to get there?

For the easiest and most convenient arrival, we recommend taking advantage of our free shuttle service from one of our seven offsite parking locations (map and list below). Shuttles will be running throughout the day, ensuring a hassle-free experience for all attendees.

In addition to the offsite parking options, onsite parking is available at Hopatcong State Park for a $10 donation per vehicle, space permitting.

In need of handicap-accessible parking?

There are 36 handicap parking spaces available onsite at Hopatcong State Park (we ask the same $10 donation for these onsite spaces). If the State Park is full, or if all handicap-accessible spaces are taken, there are handicap-accessible shuttles on both shuttle routes from the free offsite lots (they will be labeled as such).

Coming with your canine companion?

Dogs, unfortunately, are not permitted on shuttles, but for guests with four-legged friends, we have the “barking lot” at Full Life Christion Fellowship Church, near the intersection of Brooklyn-Stanhope Road and Lakeside Blvd, which is walking distance to the park (please cross at the light!). You may also, of course, plan to park onsite at the park with your pet, space permitting.

Parking options

Below is a list of all parking options for the 2024 Block Party, as well as a handy parking lot and shuttle map!

Onsite parking opens at 9:45 am

For those looking to come early and snag a parking spot onsite at Hopatcong State Park, please note that gates will not open until 9:45am, so that we can safely complete vendor placement and set-up of the event. We thank you for your patience, and we encourage everyone to be cautious while driving in and around Hopatcong State Park on May 18, to ensure the safety of all.

Thank you!

Finally, many, many thanks to all our parking and shuttle partners for helping us make the Block Party as accessible as possible. And thank you to the Roxbury Police Department, the New Jersey State Park Police, and all the volunteers for their assistance with traffic management and safety! It’s gonna be a great Block Party!
