Building a Block Party

August 13, 2021| Community, Events

By: Caitlin Doran

Piece by piece, block by block, an autumnal Lake Hopatcong Block Party is being built.

Normally a summer kick-off, this year’s October Block Party promises many of the same beloved activities the community anticipates in a normal year (and soon-to-be-revealed new ones!). Here are just some of the activities you can expect to return in 2021…

The trackless train is back!

A favorite with kids and kids-at-heart, the train is a homage to a time when many traveled by rail to the lake region to enjoy their days recreating on and around the lake and staying at its many popular hotels and resorts.

Also returning are free boat rides on the Miss Lotta, thanks to our sponsor, Live the Lake NJ!

See the Block Party by water on one of several short, complimentary cruises! You can also purchase tickets right now for the longer, one-hour Block Party VIP Cruise, for only $20 directly from the Lake Hopatcong Cruises website.

Passport Adventure Program, please!

Guests are encouraged to visit and interact with booths participating in our Passport Adventure Program. When you visit a designated passport adventure booth, the participating sponsor will stamp your passport. Towards the end of the event, guests who turn in their fully stamped passport are entered in a drawing to win a basket of prizes!

A variety of vendors have been verified.

Food vendors, crafters, non-profit organizations, and local businesses are signing up quickly for this year’s Block Party, which boasts hundreds of booths. If you’re curious about becoming a vendor or sponsor and joining us on October 2, don’t delay! Sign-up now on our website.

This and much more awaits you at our October 2 Block Party. All aboard for a great day to celebrate life along New Jersey’s largest lake!
