The Borough of Hopatcong has awarded a contract to add Hudson Avenue in the Crescent Cove section of River Styx to their sewer system. This is the first new sewer at Lake Hopatcong in over a decade. When combined with other efforts already underway in this area, progress in the water quality of this area is starting to be seen. The Borough’s aeration trial (installed this summer) has already been receiving very positive feedback. Construction of the new sewers will be able to begin as soon as the NJDEP signs off on the effort.
