Community Program: Road Salt & Our Waterways

January 06, 2026| Community, Education, Events

By: Patrick Krudop

What happens to road salt after the snow melts? Join Watershed Ambassador Matt Trochim for an engaging discussion on how road salt is used, why it matters, and the impacts excessive salt can have on our local waterways, ecosystems, and even our health. Learn about smarter alternatives being explored by municipalities and individuals and learn how to reduce your impact while staying safe in winter—plus how you can get involved in monitoring salt levels around Lake Hopatcong.

Program Details
  • Thursday, January 29 at 7:00 pm (doors open at 6:30 pm)
  • Lake Hopatcong Foundation, 125 Landing Road, Landing, NJ
